while that’s great at avoiding the disposable gays trope, that sure sucks the drama out of any sort of conflict that occurs (knowing that everyone will be just fine and there are no lasting consequences for inter-character conflicts)
There’s a lot more and a lot better conflict to be had in stories than “Do they die,” my friend.
There’s a lot worse and a lot longer lasting consequences than death, too.
